INSECTICIDES AGAINST THE MAJOR PEST OF WINTER WHEAT SUNN PEST

Annotation

The objective of the research is to investigate the efficiency of insecticides from various chemical classes against sunn pest (Eurigaster intergriceps). During field experiments the efficiency of four insecticides were investigated. Experiment scheme: 1) Decis Profy, water-dispersible granules (Deltamethrin) – 0.04 kg/ha; Arrivo, emulsion concentrate (Cypermethrin) – 0.20 l/ha; Parachute, microcapsulated suspension (Parathion-methyl) – 0.50 l/ha; 4) Euphoria, suspension concentrate (Thiamethoxam + Lambda-cyhalothrin) – 0.20 l/ha. Pesticides were applied in milk stage of winter wheat against larvae of the pest. The relationship of damage grain and gluten quality from the population of the pest was determined. The production was analyzed by the device (IDK-1) which is designed to determine deformation index of gluten in wheat grain and wheat flour according the standard GOST 27839–2013. The results of the insecticide study have shown that the highest biological efficiency against sunn pest over all dates of registration and the longest period of protective action was marked for insecticide Euphoria at a rate of 0.20 l/ha. Its use has caused almost 100% mortality of the pest for all dates of registration. Parachute was insignificantly worse and has caused 92 % mortality of the pest on the 21st day after application. Insecticides of synthetic pyrethroids Decis Profy and Arrivo on the 3rd day after application caused 100% mortality of sunn pest. However, at high average daily temperatures their efficiency decreased significantly in the next date of registration, and on the 21st day after the application was 71.2 and 63.4%, respectively. The damage grain before 1 % was obtained at applying against sunn pest the insecticides Euphoria and Parachute. In the variants where Decis Profy and Arrivo were used the grain damage was 1.9 and 2.2 % respectively.
