THE THEORETICAL JUSTIFICATION OF IRRIGATION SYSTEMS OPERATION IMPROVEMENT

Annotation

The purpose of the research is the development and justification of proposals on improvement of irrigation systems operation on the basis of determining the irrigation efficiency directly through increasing the fertility of land taking into account the operation costs. To achieve this goal the dependence of soil productivity on their moistening was obtained. The measure of land reclamation effectiveness is considered to be the increase in land productivity from the initial condition – without irrigation, drainage and other reclamations – to the improved one by the humidification degree and by soil fertility as a result of new stimulation of the soil-forming process by agricultural producers. The equation that approximates the dependence of the grain crops yield on the soil cover bonitet with 99% accuracy was obtained based on the statistical data on land productivity in the country averaged over 2015–2017 and on the soil cover bonitet according to the existing points system. The model for calculating the irrigation efficiency depending on irrigated lands productivity, both potential and existing, the efficiency coefficients of the irrigation system and land use and also taking into account the operation costs and the performance efficiency of the irrigation system was developed. The formula describing the operational efficiency of the system depending on the availability of personnel, mechanisms, transport, auxiliary facilities, materials and instruments is proposed. As a result of the conducted research a number of indicators of the irrigation systems engineering level were determined and the proposals to ensure the necessary operational efficiency of irrigation systems were formulated.
Key words: irrigation systems, irrigation systems operation, irrigation system operational efficiency, irrigation systems reliability, irrigated lands productivity, soil cover bonitet.
