NEW DREDGE EQUIPMENT DESIGNS FOR WATER BODY CLEANING (OVERVIEW)

Annotation

The article gives the overview of the new designs in dredge technological equipment for cleaning the water body bottom to allow for higher energy efficiency of underwater dredging works. It contains design of dredgers with centrifugal pumps: 1) soil-receivers with watersupply nozzle which ensures the diffusion soil loosening and forced supply of soil into the soil-receiver providing a volume concentration of sucked soil-water mixture of at least 28 %; 2) multi-unit soil-receiver designed for wide trenches dredging of the bottom area; 3) soil receiver with tight intake opening to remove the thin layer of ground. The design of a dredge with a screw pump for slimy ground dredging, sapropel (organic silt) extraction at natural moisture (without adding water) and treatment of manure-settlers and dirt-settlers is discussed. Screw pump dredgers can suck bottom ground and transport it ashore in tanks or by pumping through floating pump lines with positive displacement pump. The paper includes the technical specifications, diagrams and photos of the equipment.
