OPTIMIZATION OF THE KNIFE HEIGHT OF THE SCREW CUTTERBAR FOR MELIORATIVE CLIPPER

Annotation

The technological operation of the screw cutterbar for meliorative clipper with the horizontal rotational axis comprising conveyer-type screw at the coil periphery of it the knives are installed. The considered cutterbar realizes the no-prop cutoff of the crop stems following their grinding and transportation from the cleaning plot. The objective of the theoretical study was to determine the optimal height of the knives for a given type of a screw cutterbar. In the course of the technological operation study of the screw cutterbar the constructive and kinematic scheme of its operation was considered. The equations for the trajectory of the tips and roots of the knives were described and the pattern of the changes for operation height of the knives during the screw rotation was determined. As a result of the conducted theoretical study the formula for optimal height of the knives for a given type of a screw cutterbar was obtained depending on the forward speed of a cutterbar, rotation speed and the screw diameter, helix angle of the screw. The obtained formula meant for the calculation of the height of the knives for constructing the screw cutterbar and was used for the constructing of the meliorative clipper ÊÎÑ-2,5, which successfully has passed the state approval tests at the North Caucasus machinery testing station.
