OPTIMIZATION OF CONSTRUCTIVE AND TECHNOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF A SINGLE MATRIX GEAR PRESS

Annotation

The paper deals with the optimization of some structural and technological parameters of a single matrix gear press. Those parameters were: the coefficient of a tooth addendum, pressing material supply and rotation frequency of the operative parts. Press productivity and process power-intensity were the optimization criteria. A brief description of the press, its operation process and the purpose of this study are shown. The purpose of the study is the determination of the impact of a tooth addendum, rotation frequency of the matrix and pressing material supply on the process power-intensity and granulator productivity. The matrix of experiment planning, the factor values for the different levels of variation and experimental optimization criteri a were tabulated. Mathematical models of those criteria as a second-order polynomial are cited, the roots of polynomials are found, the system of equations is solved and the response surface graphs are plotted. At the end of the paper the analysis of mathematical models and general conclusions of the study are made. The experimental results have shown that the granulator productivity boosting was connected with the increasing of rotation frequency of matrix and the increasing of a tooth addendum and the increasing of a feed supply. The influence of the factors on power-intensity is the same with the exception of a feed supply. While a feed supply is increasing the power-intensity is declining. In the experiment the minimal power-intensity was 8 kWh/t at the press productivity of 52.2 kg/h.
