DETERMINATION OF THE PROBABLE EMERGENCY RISK OF LARGE-SCALE CANAL DUE TO THE SEEPAGE DEFORMATIONS

Annotation

The methods for risk evaluation of dam destruction of large-scale embanked canal are proposed in paper. Example of the probable emergency risk determination is made. The obtained results have shown that the risk of canal dam destruction as a result of seepage processes at average gradients doesn’t exceed the allowable value. Simultaneously the condition of local filtrating soil strength at the seepage outlet to the territory around the canal doesn’t fulfill that indicates the possibility of local destructions of the foundation soil behind the dam due to the deep seepage.
