GULLY MODELING FOR FOREST RECLAMATION PURPOSES
- Land Reclamation, Recultivation, and Land Protection
The aim of research was to investigate the degree of geological conditions influence on main canals lining reliability operating in various engineering-geological conditions. In accordance with the target goal the study was carried out in two directions: the study of factors affecting the occurrence of fracture, cracking and other violations of the concrete and reinforced concrete lining integrity of main canals operated under different engineering-geological conditions; the role of engineering-geological conditions in changing canal lining technical state. The appropriate field and laboratory work on the road of the Samur-Absheron, the Akstafachayskiy (right bank) and Mashinnaya branch of the South-Mugan main canals, located in the Republic of Azerbaijan and operated under a variety of engineering and geological conditions are performed. Investigations were conducted on the basis of generally accepted methods used in engineering geology and hydraulic engineering, as well as determining the constructed materials quality. The research results are processed by mathematical statistics and probability theory methods. The evaluation of reliability of various parts and elements of buildings, using the criteria of water supply systems reliability was carried out. It was found out that the probability of failure-free operation of concrete and reinforced concrete linings for Mashinnnaya branch of the South-Mugan main canal is on average 12.81 years, the Akstafachayskiy Pravoberezhnyy canal is 9.39 years, the Samur-Absheron canal on the site between the rivers Sitalchay and Sumgaitchay is 3.73 years, and on the canal section of 50 km long it is 11.12 years.
