PATTERNS FOR OILSEED PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING IN THE SOUTHERN FEDERAL DISTRICT

Annotation

The main Russian producers of oilseeds are the Central, Volga and Southern federal districts, which part is about 60 % of the total country production. In Russia edible oils are mainly produced from the seeds of sunflower, soybean, rape; the seeds of other oil crops (flax, mustard, castor, hemp, etc.) are processed in relatively small volumes. Provision of oil industry by oilseeds has improved significantly in recent years, correspondingly volumes and rates of vegetable oils production have increased. The aim of the research is to study the patterns for production and processing of oilseeds (particularly sunflower). We have studied the indicators of gross production; the share of its processing; the status of mechanization for oilseed processing in the Southern Federal District and the Rostov region. It is established that annually investments of big companies for developing agricultural enterprises engaged in oil seed growing results in increasing the yield of oilseed crops, decreasing production costs by applying science-intensive technologies and modern equipment. To the present time there is incomplete loading of oil processing enterprises (up to 30 %). The found patterns for production and processing of oilseed predict negative dynamics for gross product: at the end of 2018 it will decrease from 2567.30 to 1136.02 thousand tons, or by 55 %. The problems of the development and improvement of technical service and repair of the equipment for oilseed processing due to the high cost of the losses caused by the downtime of equipment were revealed.
