GULLY MODELING FOR FOREST RECLAMATION PURPOSES
- Land Reclamation, Recultivation, and Land Protection
To control defects and damages of earth water-retaining constructions, the enhanced technology was developed. The technology includes repair works using soil mixtures improved by adding fines and ash. Those additives facilitate to form in hardened soil mixture high-strength and stiff calculus structure which reinforces the resistance of repaired (restored) elements (dam slope, crest of dam, and other) of dams for damage process. Several technological processes were improved as well. The scheme for work execution were developed, the selection of components for soil mixtures with high mechanical properties was made. The repair of earth dams using soil mixtures improved by adding fines and ash provides high indices of mechanical properties (up to 13-15 MPa) and water resistance, thereby increasing the efficiency and quality of carried out repair works. The dosage of cement and fines in high-strength (13-15 MPa) soil-concrete have to be not less than 8.0-10.0 % and not less than 25-30 % respectively. The optimal ratio of fines and fly ash for economic consumption of cement in full-strength soil-concretes is seemed to be 20-40 % and 4-6 % from the total mass of soil mixture respectively. While decreasing the ratio of fines lower than 20 % and increasing the dosage of ash higher than 6 %, high strength to hardened soil mixture can’t be provided without increasing the content of cement.
