ZONING OF THE SOUTHERN RUSSIA TERRITORY ACCORDING TO HEAT AND MOISTURE SUPPLY FOR THE COTTON INTRODUCTION

The objective of the work is analytical estimation of the degree of soil moistening in large areas without survey work. To estimate soil moisture, linear correlation model in terms of determining the layer of absorption into the soil is offered to use. The layer of absorption into the soil and soil porosity enables to estimate soil moisture and water storage in soil. According to observation data of soil moisture and water storage in soil from water-balance stations Nizhnedevitskaya, Podmoskovnaya and the Valday Branch of the State Institute of Hydrology, the conclusion of applicability of the proposed method was made. These data were used for each year with subsequent averaging. The quantitative evaluation of the layer of capillary fringe is given in the work.
