THE INFLUENCE OF ELEMENTS OF CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY ON SPRING TRITICALE YIELD UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF ORDINARY CHERNOZEMS

Annotation

The aim of the research was to identify the optimal combination of primary cultivation methods, fertilizer background and crop density, contributing to the increase in the productivity of spring triticale under the soil and climatic conditions of the Azov zone Rostov region. The relevance of research is caused by the need to improve the elements of the spring triticale cultivation technology. The focus of the work is to identify the optimal combination of factors that affect the growing conditions of plants, the practical application of new, productive varieties that contribute to unleash the potential of triticale in the zone of insufficient moisture and to obtain high and stable crop productivity in southern Russia. The studies were conducted at the experimental station of the Federal Rostov Agrarian Scientific Center (FGBNU FRANTS (Don Zonal Research Institute of Agriculture)) in 2016–2018. When conducting research, generally accepted methods were used. It was found that during the cultivation of a new Saur variety, the highest yield was provided under the moldboard primary treatment, the background of fertilizers N80Ð80K80 and the seeding rate of 5 million seeds per ha, reaching 26.9 dt per ha. At similar rates of fertilizers and seeding rate by the chisel treatment the grain yield was 1.0 dt per ha, or 3.7 %. The best payback of 1 kg of applied fertilizers by the yield increase took place against the average background of mineral nutrition (N40Ð40K40) with all studied methods of the primary cultivation and seeding rates, reaching 4.17 kg/kg. Under the conditions of energy and mineral resources shortage, along with the option ‘a moldboard method of primary cultivation, high fertilizer background (N80Ð80K80) and seeding rate of 5 million seeds per ha, it is possible to use less energy-intensive chisel treatment and an average mineral nutrition background providing the most efficient fertilizer use.
