GULLY MODELING FOR FOREST RECLAMATION PURPOSES
- Land Reclamation, Recultivation, and Land Protection
The aim of the research is the analysis of the existing approaches to the standards development of rice water consumption and water disposal from rice irrigation systems. When considering the problem, it has been noted that gross rice yield in Russia is about 1 million tons, which meets the domestic and export demand. But at the same time, it is necessary to improve these crop cultivation technologies taking into account water- and resource saving and also to work out its selection to achieve the results of large rice producers such as Australia, the United States and Turkey. The study of regulatory and methodology documentation shows the lack of developed normative documents on rice water consumption and water disposal norms from rice irrigation systems for various agroclimatic zones of Russia. Scientific literature analysis has shown that both in Russia and abroad under production conditions preference is given to technology for growing rice by shortened flooding. For the calculation of rice water consumption rates and water disposal rates from rice irrigation systems the most acceptable formula is the V. B. Zaitsev formula which considers all the constituents of water balance expenditure and debit items of a rice paddy and is used in almost all regions cultivating rice to calculate the net rice irrigation rate. But the standards development should be based on experimental research in the rice-growing regions of the country.
Key words: water consumption, water disposal, water regime, rice, rate (standard), irrigation.
