PROBLEMS AND PROSPECT OF TOMATO PASTE PRODUCTION IN SEMIKARAKORSKIY DISTRICT OF THE ROSTOV REGION (OVERVIEW)

Annotation

The paper affords data about the required volumes of vegetable production in the South and North Caucasian Federal Districts to satisfy needs of the country population. The analysis of croppage, area harvested, yield, and net cost for tomato growing in the Russian Federation, USA, China, and other countries is given. To produce concentrated tomato products, the main components of the processing tomato growing technology by the example of Semikarakorskiy district of the Rostov Region are considered including the choice of cultivars, specifics of drip irrigation use, and cassette seedling technology.
