ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF THE WINTER WHEAT AND GRAIN CORN GROWING UPON THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TECHNOLOGY INTENSITY

Annotation

The experimental evaluation of the intensification effectiveness of the winter wheat and grain corn growing was conducted. The evaluation consisted of the determination of a crop yield level upon the different degree of intensity of the growing technologies, a cost of yield and a crop growing efficiency depending on the applied technology. Agrotechnologies were divided into three levels of intensity: intensive, half-intensive and extensive. For the years of 2008-2010 the yields of winter wheat averaged 3.25 t/ha by extensive technology , 4.13 t/ha - by half-intensive and 5.38 t/ha - by intensive. The yield increase upon growing at half-intensive technology was 0.88 t/ha (14.9 %) and 2.13 t/ha (65.5 %) – at intensive technology. The average grain yield of corn was 2.22 t/ha by extensive technology, 4.55 t/ha – by half-intensive technology and 6.31 t/ha – by extensive technology. The yield increase by intensive and half-intensive technologies were 4.09 t/ha (184.2 %) and 2.33 t/ha (104.9 %), respectively . To decide which growing technology is the best one, the main criterion was assumed an economic efficiency. The economic analysis suggests that the most economic efficiency technologies of growing of winter wheat and corn are the technologies of intensive level which provides the lowest cost of yield and makes more profit and greater profitability.
