NATURAL WATER SUPPLY AND MINERAL NUTRITION IMPACT ON GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF PERENNIAL GRASS MIXTURE AT THE ASH DISPOSAL AREA OF NOVOCHERKASSKAYA SDPP

Annotation

The impact of natural water supply and mineral nutrition on the growth and development of perennial grass mixture “Hungarian sainfoin + coach grass + awnless brome” grown at the second section of ash disposal area of Novocherkasskaya SDPP was investigated. It was established that growth and development of plants in the conditions of ash disposal area depend on the applied mineral fertilizer rates and water supply of the particular year. The highest values of plant heights and root system development of Hungarian sainfoin, coach grass, and awnless brome were observed for treatments, where fertilizers were applied in calculated rate and the rate increased by 30 %. Composition, structure and depth of the recultivated layer also made positive effect on the growth and development of the grass mixture, so at the end of the second growing year of the grass mixture the root systems penetrated into wet ash dump substratum and used necessary moisture.
