PERSPECTIVE GRADES OF GRAIN CROPS FOR THE IRRIGATED LANDS OF THE FOOTHILL ZONE OF STAVROPOL REGION

Annotation

The purpose of the research is to find varieties and hybrids of crops that are productive in the irrigated lands of the Foothill zone of the Stavropol Territory. The studies were conducted according to generally accepted methods by B. A. Dospehov, VNIIOZ VNII of Feed name by V. R. Williams. The investigations revealed that the most productive corn hybrids – Zernogradsky 354 MW and Mashuk 355 MW, their yield – 10.2 and 10.9 t/ha. Among varieties of sweet sorghum the most productive was Larets (10.6 t/ha); among varieties of grain sorghum – Slavyanskoye pole 214 (14.3 t/ha). The most productive use of moisture was obtained for grain sorghum – 241.5 m³/t. Water consumption coefficients of corn and sweet sorghum were 329.2 and 329.3 m³/t, respectively.
