GROWING METHODS EFFICIENCY OF THE FIELD CROPS IN ROTATIONS ON SOUTHERN CHERNOZEM

Annotation

The paper presents the research results on efficiency of the complex of growing methods (tillage management and fertilization) on rotation productivity on southern chernozem situated in North-West agricultural zone of Rostov region. The experiments were conducted at Severodonetskaya agricultural experimental station. Mineral and organic mineral fertilization in cereal-row crop and cereal-fallow-row crop rotations were studied. The rotations were differed from each other by the crop composition and the presence of fallow with moldboard ploughing and chisel ploughing. Novelty of research consists of study the applying of organic mineral fertilization under the different tillage methods in rotations. Field experiments were conducted in 2006-2010. Estimations and observations were made by the standard methods of B. A. Dospehov (1985), S. V. Astapov (1975), A. N. Kashtanov (1996), K. S. Artohin (2004), A. I. Chebotarev (1965). Analysis of rotation productivity showed the benefit of cereal-row crop rotation with organic mineral fertilization and moldboard ploughing. The highest recoupment from fertilizers by yield increasing (3.65 kg per kg of plant nutrient) in cereal-row crop rotation was observed under the mineral fertilization and moldboard ploughing; in cereal-fallow-row crop rotation – under the same fertilization with chisel ploughing (4.09 kg per kg of plant nutrient). With the object of conservation and soil fertility improvement it is recommended the application of organic mineral fertilization at the rate of 160 kg per ha of plant nutrient in cereal-row crop rotation and 214 kg per ha of plant nutrient in cereal-fallow-row crop rotation.
