GEOINFORMATION SYSTEM MONITORING OF LANDS DESTROYED BY SOLID HOUSEHOLD WASTES FOR THE CONDITIONS OF SARATOV LEFT BANK

Annotation

The aim of research was to develop a system of GIS-monitoring of lands disturbed by dumps and solid waste landfills for the conditions of the Middle Volga region. The studies to substantiate the composition and structure of software and information support for GIS-monitoring were conducted in 2015–2017 in the dry steppe zone of Trans-Volga region. The objects of research are the elements of the solid waste circulation system in Soviet municipal district of Saratov Trans-Volga region (authorized landfill of solid household and municipal waste, a waste transshipment station). It is found that the main method of solid domestic waste management in the Left Bank of Saratov Region is their burial and the number of unauthorized places of such burial significantly exceeds the number of authorized dumps and licensed landfills. As a result of field environmental surveys, as well as studying archive materials of the administration of the Soviet district of Saratov region carried out in 2010 and 2012 it was found out that the filtrate formed in the dump body is a highly toxic pollutant of the environment, in which in some periods the Cr content by 1.2 times; Mn and Zn by 1.4 times; phosphate by 9.7 times; nitrogen oxides by 22.1 and 174.3 times; ammonium ion by 287 times; oil products by 580 times; sulfate ions by 146 times and chlorine ions by 2057 times exceed the maximum permissible concentrations. To prevent contamination of environmental components and deterioration of the environmental situation in adjacent landfills and dumps, the GIS monitoring system consisting of a digital map of the observable territory (18 vector layers), an attributive database of observation results (10 relational files) digital three-dimensional models of the relief and groundwater level (in the triangular irregular network format), mathematical dynamic models of landfill filtration (moisture transfer), geoinformation processing (interpolation) data was proposed.
