ZONING OF THE SOUTHERN RUSSIA TERRITORY ACCORDING TO HEAT AND MOISTURE SUPPLY FOR THE COTTON INTRODUCTION
- Land reclamation, water manadgement and agrophysics
Purpose: to substantiate scientifically the biological preparations application for potato growth and development phases under different soil water regimes and under irrigated conditions, ensuring economic efficiency and minimizing the anthropogenic impact on the environment.
Materials and methods. As part of the 2021–2023 experiment, the impact of various factors on the yield of the Gulliver potato variety was studied at the site of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Irrigated Agriculture. Two soil moisture levels (70 and 80 % of the minimum water capacity in the 0.4 m layer) and three plant protection strategies: chemical, combined, and biological were selected as variables. The research methodology was fully consistent with generally accepted standards.
Results. The greatest tuber weight was formed at 80 % minimum water capacity and the biological system and amounted to 365 g/plant during the flowering period, and 660 g/plant during the tuber accumulation period. With the same combination, the highest yield of commercial tubers was obtained – 31.6 t/ha. In 2021, potato evapotranspiration varied from 2720 m³/ha in the first irrigation regime variant to 3450 m³/ha in the second, and in 2022–2023 its values in the first variant increased to 3060 m³/ha, and in the second to 3910 and 3680 m³/ha, respectively. The maximum net income and profitability were observed with 80 % of the minimum water capacity in the 0.4 m layer and biological protection and amounted to 409,315.0 rubles/ha and 183.8 %, respectively, over the research years.
Conclusions. While growing potatoes in the Lower Volga region, with N₁₉₀P₈₀K₁₇₀ applied at 80 % of the minimum water capacity in the 0.4 m layer and biological protection, the yield over the study period was 31.6 t/ha of tubers, and seed productivity was 6.3 t/ha. Net income and profitability per hectare amounted to 409,315.0 rubles and 183.8 %, respectively.
