OPTIMIZING DESIGN PARAMETERS OF MOBILE IRRIGATION PIPELINE

Annotation

The aim of the research is to define and substantiate design parameters of mobile irri-gation pipeline with hydraulic system of regulating water supply for the surface method of ir-rigation. In the laboratory of Volgograd State Agrarian University hydraulic study was con-ducted using laboratory apparatus which is the model of irrigation link comprising manage-ment tank and pipeline with locking device in the form of extensible bulbs. The filling and discharge of water from these bulbs provides through the flexible hose with holes. The pipe-line of the model has the following parameters: polyethylene tube L = 5 m, d = 50 mm. The hose diameter of locking device is 12 mm. Diameter of locking bulbs varied from 20 to 40 mm with step 5 mm. The indicator of operation quality of pipeline is emission uniformity of irrigation rate for a given interval by hydraulic timer. During conducted experiments and calculation, hydraulic model specifications were determined, as well as the factors affecting on the operation quality of proposed construction: hose diameter of ribbon gate valve, ratio of pipeline diameter to its length, ratio of diameter of locking bulb to pipeline diameter. Accord-ing to the results of laboratory study, math treatment of experimental data and optimization of design parameters of irrigation pipeline was done. As a result of the study it was established that minimal departure from irrigation rate was provided by following parameters of mobile pipeline: diameter of ribbon gate valve – 15.6…17.2 mm; ratio of pipeline diameter to its length – 0.0059…0.0061; ratio of a diameter of locking bulb to an average diameter of pipe-line – 0.432…0.454.
