GULLY MODELING FOR FOREST RECLAMATION PURPOSES
- Land Reclamation, Recultivation, and Land Protection
Purpose: to propose a method for increasing the energy efficiency of diesel pump units used in land reclamation by reducing specific fuel consumption during multi-mode operation and using a multi-speed transmission as part of the unit.
Materials and methods. The generally accepted formulas for calculating power, torque, and flow rate were used. The law of proportionality, the graph-analytical method, and the provisions of GOST 33969-2016, GOST 33970-2016, and ISO/ASME 14414:2019 were applied. The initial information was provided by the network characteristics calculated in accordance with the requirements of SP 399.1325800.2018, SP 66.13330.2011 and GOST R 70628.2-2023 for the Delium 125-480A double-entry pump (nominal pump shaft speed, flow rate, pressure, power, efficiency), and the speed characteristics of the YaMZ-53403 internal combustion engine (ICE) (engine crankshaft speed, power, torque).
Results. The proposed method was considered step by step in the following sequence: collecting initial information and calculating the flow-pressure characteristics of the network – selecting a pump brand – constructing a combined graph of the pump characteristics (taking into account speed control), the network and the limiting area of their joint operation – mapping (surjection) of the set of intersection points of the head and rate characteristics of the pump and the network onto the set of points in the plane of the pump shaft speed and the calculated torque (power) on the pump shaft – selecting an internal combustion engine model – determining the parameters at the transmission output when operating together with the engine – determining the energy saving values for a pump unit with a multi-speed transmission.
Conclusions. As a result of the research, it was determined that for multi-mode operation of a pump unit, for observance energy conservation, it is necessary to provide for the presence of an additional element in the form of a multi-speed transmission with gear ratios in the range of i = 0.80–0.95.
