THE TEVIX BIOPREPARATION APPLICATION IN A BIOLOGIZATION SYSTEM FOR VEGETABLE PRODUCTION IN THE DRY STEPPE VOLGA REGION

Annotation

Purpose: to determine the impact of the Tevix biopreparation on the growth and productivity of vegetable crops under irrigation in the dry-steppe Volga region.

Materials and methods. The impact of the biopreparation on various vegetable crops was compared with the untreated control variant. The biopreparation was applied through drip irrigation using fertigation at the rate of 1 l/ha during planting of vegetable crops and at the same rate during vegetative growth. Soil condition was assessed and mineral fertilizer application rates were calculated based on the results of agrochemical soil analysis. The studies were conducted at experimental plots in the dry-steppe Volga region in 2023–2025 using generally accepted experimental methods.

Results. The dynamics of biomass growth in sweet pepper, eggplant, tomato, and cucumber grown in open and protected ground under drip irrigation were analyzed across the crop vegetation phases in the dry-steppe Volga region. The biological yield of the studied crops was determined under different experimental conditions. An analysis of the test results showed that the use of the biological product increased the height of the above-ground mass by 6–78 cm compared to the untreated variant. Application of the Tevix biopreparation at the beginning of flowering increased fruiting of vegetable crops from 0.6 to 5.7 pieces per plant compared to the untreated control variant.

Conclusions. The biopreparation Tevix application in vegetable crop cultivation under irrigation in the dry-steppe Volga region resulted in additional yields of 5.3 t/ha for eggplant, 8.9 t/ha for tomatoes, and 4.5 t/ha for sweet peppers; 1.7 t/ha for open-ground cucumbers and 3.7 t/ha for protected-ground cucumbers. The Tevix biopreparation application on vegetables increased the biological yield of tomatoes to 70.9 t/ha, eggplant to 64.1 t/ha, sweet pepper to 49.8 t/ha, open-ground cucumber to 16.7 t/ha, and protected-ground cucumber to 35.2 t/ha.
